Hotshot Kennels Breeding Philosophy...................................

Hotshot Kennels is a small breeding and showing kennel.  We generally breed 1 litters every two or three years and have of litter planning invested in the breeding.  We require a puppy questionaire be completed when we are contacted about a Hotshot Kennels puppy, and we may ask some seamingly silly additioanl questions, but we will definately ask you for references.   We do this to ensure that an Aussie is the right breed for you and which personality/temperament would be the correct fit for both your needs as well as the dogs. Hotshot Kennels likes to ensure that prospective buyers committed to the responsibility of owning an Australian Shepherd. Aussies are not the breed for everyone. We have and will always have the best interest of the dog in mind, with each puppy we place, and reserve the right to refuse to sell a puppy.

All of our breeding stock is registered with the AKC & ASCA, is OFA'd Good, or Excellent, are currently CERF'd, and are healthy, representatives of the breed with no disqualifying faults.

All of our puppies are placed with guarantees. We guarantee all puppies against genetic health issues, such as Epilepsy, Hereditary Hip Dysplasia, debilitating eye defects. Our show puppies are guaranteed against the above as well as monarchism or chriptorchism, and disqualifying fauts as stated in the ASCA/AKC Standard.

All puppies will have their eyes cleared, and will have beginner training for everyday things, such as not jumping on people, standing on the table, baths and house and crate training. All puppies will socialized with other adults, other breeds, and we will try to add children into the mix. The pups will be exposed to a variety of textures, flooring, toys and areas. We usually take our puppies whereever we can, as the more they experience they receive, the better off they are.

We do basic imprinting with all our puppies starting at birth. This includes touching and holding them, rubbing them and maintaining this as they get older. A puppy that knows the human touch with out resistence is a great dog to have around.

We do NOT hold any puppies without a deposit, no exceptions.
