Breeding Philosophy of Hotshot Kennels

Here you will find the plans that Hotshot Kennels has in the works for upcoming litters. We take our breeding responsibilities very seriously, and usually plan them over several years.

We generally breed one litter every two or three years and will have a lot of planning invested in each breeding. We require a puppy questionnaire be completed when we are contacted about a Hotshot Kennels puppy, and we may ask some seemingly silly additional questions, but we will definitely ask you for references. We do this to ensure that an Aussie is the right breed for you and which personality/temperament would be the correct fit for both your needs as well as the dogs.

Hotshot Kennels likes to ensure that prospective buyers are committed to the responsibility of owning an Australian Shepherd. Aussie's are not the breed for everyone. We have and will always have the best interest of the dog in mind, with each puppy we place, and reserve the right to refuse to sell a puppy.

All of our breeding stock is registered with AKC & ASCA, will have OFA Hip and Elbow clearances, CERF Clear, and are healthy, representatives of the breed with no disqualifying faults.

We guarantee all puppies against genetic health issues, such as Epilepsy, Hereditary Hip Dysplasia, and debilitating eye defects.

Our show puppies are guaranteed against the above as well as monarchism or criticism, and disqualifying faults as stated in the ASCA/AKC Standard.

We do NOT hold any puppies without a deposit, no exceptions.
